Keeping track of the vehicle’s capacity – r2p provides Automatic Passenger Counting system

85 vehicles of the Verkehrsgesellschaft Frankfurt am Main GmbH will be equipped with an onboard Automatic Passenger Counting (APC) system. With the new order r2p will fit out 40 trams and 45 buses, which are going to be operated in the city of Frankfurt am Main. The project will start in early 2018 and will include a VDV 457 based solution, which has proved successful in hundreds of vehicles in Scandinavia. It includes r2p’s innovative Passenger Counting sensors (CPC-R), APC communication units (IPC1000) and APC software.

In the European public tender for this order, r2p has been able to prevail against a variety of competitors. Paul Martin Christiansen, r2p’s Key Account Manager, says: “We are glad that with our products and our offer we were able to meet the requirements of the client VGF regarding the technical solution as well as offer the best value for money. We look forward to a long and trustful collaboration.”
