r2p will supply 47 SIL1 RVM to Bombardier Duisburg

We are pleased to announce that r2p will supply 47 SIL1 Rearview-Monitoring Systems (RVM) for Bombardier for the customer Duisburger Verkehrsgesellschaft AG. This is the first contract for r2p’s new IP based SIL1 RVM. The SIL1 (Safety Integrity Level) is defined as a relative level of risk-reduction provided by a safety function, in this case meaning reassurance of no frozen imagery, no latency, and correct display of cameras in the monitors of the driver's cab.

Paul Martin Christiansen, responsible Sales Manager at r2p comments: “r2p is the first European supplier who successfully introduced a complete IP-based rear-view mirror system to the market that meets the exacting SIL1 standards. It is amazing to experience the digitalization of transportation first-hand and witness our customers become more and more open to innovative IP-based solutions and that the demand for intelligent products increases, such as our SIL1 RVM. With the SIL1 RVM system r2p contributes substantially to the improvement of safe and efficient public transportation.”
