First priority for buses in Lincolnshire – r2p provides iConnex system for traffic light pre-emption

Buses being on time is no magic anymore – r2p’s innovative iConnex system makes it possible. It communicates with traffic lights either locally (at the junction) or remotely via the Council’s traffic control system in their offices. This means that buses get green lights as they approach the traffic lights, and can travel faster and more efficiently.

r2p announces an order from Lincolnshire Council for the fitting of seven traffic light junctions with ‘local’ pre-emption systems and control equipment. The cooperation between Lincolnshire and r2p started with a first project in 2015, and has since then been expanded.

Russell Gard, Managing Director of r2p UK, says: “Our system works and it helps to ensure that bus passengers get as good a service as possible, and helps operators run their buses more efficiently. We are really pleased that Lincolnshire like and use the system and have expanded it, and that the bus operators have such confidence in the system.”
