During the period from January 2012 to October 2015, Deutsche Bahn at their Krefeld site modernised the 100 EMUs of the S-Bahn Rhein-Main, series ET 423.

Initial situation

The objective was to improve and optimise the comfort and safety for passengers with disabilities.

R2P'S SOLUTION

r2p delivered the complete CCTV system, as well as the following products: R16 Hybrid Video Recorder, Full-HD cameras, Network switches and cable kits.

In addition, another 63 similar CCTV systems were delivered and installed in the ET 423 trains for S-Bahn, Cologne. Two other projects, ET 425 Rhein-Neckar and VT 612, are currently being implemented. In total more than 250 trains have already had the innovative CCTV solution from r2p installed and put into service.
