ŠKODA and r2p join forces to make the new Chemnitz tramways the best way to travel the city

Safety for the passengers plus better capacity management for the operator – r2p announces a new order from ŠKODA Transportation for supplying an Onboard Saloon and DOO CCTV solution together with a passenger counting system for 14 new tramway trains.

With the new order r2p will supply equipment for 14 trains, which are going to be operated by CVAG Chemnitz in the southern part of Germany. The project will start in late 2018 and will include a full IP based solution including CD9x, CD7 and the video recorder R8C as well as an analog part for rear-view solution, based on CA10 cameras.

The second part of the delivery is a passenger counting system, which was developed by r2p. This integrated hard- and software solution is going to provide the operator CVAG with important data regarding the vehicles’ capacity utilisation. As a necessary part of the passenger counting system r2p is also providing the connectivity system (network). This is the first cooperation between ŠKODA Transportation and r2p.

“We are very excited about the collaboration with ŠKODA Transportation and hope this will mark the beginning of a fruitful partnership in the public transport industry” states Flemming Kaer, r2p’s Director of Sales and Marketing.
