Meet us at IT-TRANS 2018 in Karlsruhe – r2p to present accessibility technologies and IP based CCTV

From 6.-8. March 2018 the r2p Group will present innovative solutions for the public transport industry at stand A4 at dm-arena in Karlsruhe. IT-TRANS, with more than 200 exhibitors and 5,000 expected visitors, is the leading exhibition for IT-driven and future-oriented public transport solutions.

Intelligent Urban Transport Systems – in March 2018 this is the central focus at IT-TRANS at the Karlsruhe Trade Fair Centre. The r2p Group is presenting its integrated hardware and software solutions for Public Transport Authorities (PTA) as well as for operators in the rail and bus industry. At our stand we will present overall group activities with focus on two current topics:

1. REACT accessibility technologies:

With the focus on the REACT accessibility system, r2p is reacting to the German Passenger Transportation Act, which requires barrier-free accessibility in public transport by 2022.

REACT Technologies, which is part of the global r2p Group, is the only European licensed supplier and manufacturer of these accessibility products, and is committed to developing and improving them to meet the needs of people with all sensory and cognitive impairments. By the partnership with the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) in United Kingdom REACT has over ten years’ experience developing and implementing accessibility technology.

“Our mission is to improve the lives of people with specialist accessibility needs through the technology we create,” states Russell Gard, Managing Director of React Technologies. “We empower people to live more independent lives by developing systems to support independent journeys. We understand that getting accessibility systems in place is a journey in itself, so we’re proud to support everyone involved in making that happen along the way.”

2. IP-based CCTV and Driver-Only Operation (DOO)

r2p’s rearview mirror system (DOO) allows the driver to get a better overview of the vehicle and its surroundings. When used as a classic rearview mirror replacement or as door control, passengers’ safety can be improved at stops or on the tracks. This solution, which is presented at IT TRANS, is about to be SIL certified to meet all safety standards.

r2p’s latest camera and monitor technology enables a low latency video streaming on monitors. This technology, combined with the R16-X hybrid recorder, will not only allow videos (analogue and digital) to be recorded simultaneously, but it will also allow individually configured monitor set-ups. Both the new camera line as well as the digital monitors are going to be shown at the exhibition stand.

The rapidly growing r2p Group, headquartered in Flensburg, Germany, operates internationally in 45 countries with subsidiaries in Denmark, England, Switzerland and Brazil. With a silent partnership in Taiwan, a sales office in the Czech Republic and local manufacturing in India, r2p takes pride in being a truly global company.

As a market leader, r2p has great passion and energy for developing and distributing software and hardware for rail and road vehicles, mobile video surveillance, PIS, PA, APC and telemetric solutions.
