To mark the end of a successful year, r2p has secured a large order from Stadler US Inc. This project follows a first purchase order in October 2020 containing r2p’s PIS/PA- and CCTV solution for 127 new two-car trains for MARTA (Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority).

Now, Stadler with its suppliers has been asked by MARTA to completely redesign the sold trains with much more modern features, including an extensive Passenger Information System. For this endeavour, r2p is the perfect fit, as we are a pioneer in innovative communication solutions with over 20 years of demonstrated experience designing, manufacturing, delivering, and supporting systems.

According to responsible salesperson Beat Obrist: “This contract with Stadler US is an important milestone to expand our footprint on the US market and is in line with our business strategy and our recent acquisition of TG Baker Americas". The rollout starts in Q3 2022 and will be finished by mid-2028.

The trains will be equipped with:

• R16-X recorders
• Saloon- and Driver Surveillance
• Forward Facing Cameras
• Rear-View Cameras
• HMIs
• DOO Monitors
• PIS-PA solutions, including Passenger Intercoms
• PIS- and Advertisement Displays
• IT/Ethernet backbone, including train to ground communication
• The project also includes the connection to the r2p Horizon platform.
